Scholarship Opportunity For West County Youth

(1/12/09) The Shelburne Falls Area Business Association is seeking applications from local students with strong interests in pursuing careers in business for its Spring 2010 scholarship award.

Students who have demonstrated an interest and involvement in business and entrepreneurship and are active in volunteer service in the community are encouraged to apply.  For the first time this year, the SFABA has expanded its scholarship opportunities to students residing in the 10 towns it serves: Ashfield, Buckland, Charlemont, Conway, Colrain, Hawley, Heath, Plainfield, Shelburne and Rowe.  In past years, the award was limited to students at Mohawk Trail Regional High School.  The $500 scholarship will be used to help the student continue his/her education through an accredited continuing education course or a college or university.  

To qualify the applicant must be a resident of one of the ten towns served by the Shelburne Falls Area Business Association, a graduating senior, and have maintained good academic standing throughout high school.
