Salmon Falls Street Fest

Gala Street Fest Planned for September 26

(9/1//09)
On Saturday September 26th the SFABA will host the first annual Salmon Falls Street Festival. ThSalmonFallsFest_fish_white.jpgis event brings together the community to celebrate our local artisans, music, food and the coming of fall.

The event will be held in Shelburne Falls, centering in the Deerfield Avenue area, and will be free to the public from 11:00 a.m. - 10 p.m.  The festival features food provided by local restaurants, craft and art vendors, music at the band tent, street performers & kids' activities.

Deerfield Avenue will be closed to vehicles and will provide a charming area to walk around, visit with friends and enjoy our beautiful town.  The last event of the day will be a 2 hour dance band concert at the end of Deerfield Avenue.

This event is intended to drawn people into town during what is normally a slower month for the businesses prior to the fall season. There are many ways for area businesses to participate:

  • Cooperative Advertising: We will be advertising using posters, the website, press releases, as well as a feature spots on WRSI. There will be a live broadcast featuring WRSI the day of the festival and d ad commercials will air 10 days in advance.
  • Vendor Space: Vendors will be the back bone to this event. We still have plenty of spaces for artisans or crafters.
  • Raffle Items: Local products displayed in a basket will be raffled off at the event.  Proceeds will benefit the SFABA.
  • Sponsors: You may be listed as a sponsor.
  • Volunteers Needed:  The Board of Directors needs your help to organize and promote this event.

Please contact Mary Vilbon at 625-2526 or Bruce Van Iderstine at 625-9914.  This will be the first annual Salmon Falls Street Festival and we sure would like your help to make it happen!
