Libraries

Each of our area towns has its own library which serves our communities by not only providing a wide selection of reading materials but by offering videos, books on tape, computer access as well as a place for the community to come together for discussion and support. We are members of the traveling library connected to the 5 college network and are able to provide a vast selection of materials. The Mass Interlibrary Loan program puts the world’s best collections at your fingertips, or you may stop in at one of the college libraries to steep yourself in the historic collections.

Libraries serve as a focus for an environment of life-long learning. Many of the library buildings are also historic sites, designed by such architects as William Bullfinch, or funded by trusts provided by early industrial families such as Josiah Pratt.
