Tickets for the 12th Annual Iron Bridge Dinner in Shelburne Falls, presented by the Shelburne Falls Area Business Association in partnership with the towns of Shelburne and Buckland, will be beginning in mid July. They can be purchased at the Village Information Center located at 75 Bridge Street on a first-come first-serve basis. Cash, check, Mastercard and Visa will be accepted. In an effort to distribute the Iron Bridge Dinner tickets more evenly throughout the community, a purchasing limit of 8 tickets per person will be in effect again this year - the purchaser must be present for the purchase. This is a "rain or shine" outdoor event. Another sellout is expected.
In accordance with the Town of Shelburne ordinance against any open alcoholic beverage containers on the streets, there will be a strictly enforced "no BYOB" policy during this year's dinner. However, wine and beer will be available on the bridge for dinner guests along with the usual array of sparkling and still waters.
The Bridge Dinner will be held Sunday, August 19, 2012. Seating begins at 5:30 PM. The iron bridge will close to traffic from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. allowing for set up and clean up time.
Local restaurateurs prepare this elegant outdoor meal. Modeled after a similar outdoor community dinner in France, this unique event features a single table set with linens and china for 400 people along the entire span of the Iron Bridge over the Deerfield River that connects the towns of Buckland and Shelburne. Diners have a wonderful view of the famous Bridge of Flowers.
