On Saturday, September 22nd the Shelburne Falls Area Business Association will host its fourth annual Salmon Falls Street Festival to bring the community together to celebrate local artisans, music, food and the coming of the fall season. This event will be free to the public from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. with food provided by local restaurants, craft and art vendors, music at the band tent (which includes folk, country, classic rock and oldies) and the beer and wine tent.
Vendor offerings will be interesting and quite varied this year. Not only will there be a choice of food items; one can peruse the booths and shops offering jewelry, photo cards, paintings, crafted gourds, handbags, cutlery and kitchen tools, ponchos, scarves, twig crayons, glassware, books and much, much more. Adults can purchase beverages from under the beer and wine tent while sitting back listening to the music with the beautiful potholes in the background.
Shelburne Falls is worth a trip from anywhere in New England. Shelburne Falls was itself named “one of the prettiest small towns in New England” and is full of artisan shops, galleries, restaurants and attraction such as the historic Bridge of Flowers and the Glacial Potholes of the Deerfield River. Shelburne Falls is only two hours from Boston and 45 minutes from Springfield on Route 2 going west to the Berkshires.
So tell your friends, bring the family as there will be something for everyone. As you walk through the village be sure to cross the beautiful and famed bridge of flowers and marvel at the glory of nature as you take note of so many plants in bloom. Join us and enjoy the magnificence of a lovely fall afternoon and evening!
