America's Holiday is the opportunity to mark our long association with Amherst as we note the town's 250th Anniversary in featuring a premiere by distinguished Amherst composer Robert Stern entitled Music for a Midsummer Evening written for Laura Klock, horn, Lynn Klock saxophone, and Estela Olevsky, piano, all Amherst residents. The program includes the Scaramouche Suite by Milhaud and On a Snowy Evening, by Catherine McMichael played by Lynn Klock and Nadine Shank piano, and from Jazz Duo, Jerry Noble piano and Bob Sparkman clarinet a selection of American delights. July 4 is offered as MTC's Free Family Concert without intermission and starting earlier (at 7PM); so that the audience can follow with further Holiday Night celebration. www.mohawktrailconcerts.org 413-625-9511 / toll free 888-682-6873
