Promote Your Business and Volunteer!

Visitor Information Center a great business resource

(4/3/09) Last year over 9,000 individuals “dropped in” to the Visitor’s Information Center which served people from nearly every state in the USA and from over 40 countries.

The Village Information Center will reopen on May 1st. During the key tourist season, it serves many individuals who visit the area by providing information about lodging, restaurants, shops, galleries, recreational opportunities, and general information about the area. Businesses in the area benefit directly as visitors seek information and services while they are in the area.

The Center is operated by the Shelburne Falls Area Civic Beautification Association, and all those who serve at the VIC are volunteers from our community.

To help the volunteers give out correct information to promote your business, please update your information at the VIC including:
• your business hours and days open
• a copy of restaurant menus
• posters about special events that you are holding - a show, a contest, special exhibit.

The most important thing you can do is to become a volunteer.

Volunteers serve 3 hour shifts from either 10 am - 1 pm or 1 pm - 4 pm. The VIC is fortunate to have some "regulars" who volunteer every week. But more people are needed to volunteer for one shift a month or even every other month. You may say, "But I work!" Many of our volunteers also work - but they schedule their personal time to volunteer.

Not only will you meet some very nice visitors - but you will learn a lot about what those who come to our town are looking for. It could help your business!

For more information or to become a volunteer, contact the SFABA office.
