Volunteers Needed! (3/16/11) During the fall Shelburne Falls Area Business Association Breakfast, the Franklin County Regional Housing and Redevelopment Authority provided information on a financial literacy curriculum being delivered to Mohawk junior and senior students this school year. This curriculum is called Credit for Life. The final session with the students is a Credit for Life Fair, where Mohawk juniors and senior students role-play the position of a 25-year old adult with a career, a salary and a credit score. Based upon this information, they must make decisions that affect their finances - should they rent an apartment on their own or have a roommate, buy or lease a vehicle, purchase furniture, and save for their retirement. This session is being held on Friday morning, May 13th at the Mohawk Trail Regional High School. We are in need of volunteers to help make this learning experience successful!
