Every year, on a summer day in July, the Iron Bridge in Shelburne Falls is closed to traffic and a dining table for 400 is set up.
Enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by local chefs served on china laid upon linen tablecloths. Strolling musicians play lovely music while you dine on a three-course meal consisting of a hearty salad, a choice of main course, and a delicious dessert.
You'll be served by athletes from the local high school's Mohawk Athletic Association. The proceeds from the Iron Bridge Dinner support athletics at Mohawk.
The Race has been run annually in downtown Shelburne Falls, MA. on the second Saturday of August since 1979.
Race Day begins with the 3K run (1.86 miles) at 8:00 am.
The Bridge of Flowers Classic 8K (4.97 miles) kicks off when the starter rings the cowbell at 9:00 am.
Both routes begin and end in the center of the Village.
Every August the Heath Fair celebrates our town's long agricultural heritage. It's a must-visit event for people interested in New England agricultural traditions, or just looking for old-fashioned family fun!
Family-Friendly Events: We have plenty of family-friendly activities, such as craft booths and live music. Children's activities include carnival rides, games, a petting zoo, and face painting.
Livestock Shows and Agricultural Exhibits: The Heath Fair features livestock shows where farmers and 4-H youth present their cows, sheep, goats, and chickens for judging. Our agricultural exhibits showcase locally grown produce, flowers, and crafts.
Competitions and Demonstrations: Watch locals compete in horse pulls, tractor pulls, and skillet tosses. Demonstrations of traditional skills such as, blacksmithing, wood carving, and beekeeping are entertaining as well as educational.
Food and Vendors: Scrumptious fair food is a highlight for many visitors. Indulge in classic treats like fried dough and cotton candy, or make a meal of barbecue and farm-fresh produce.
