Explore Ashfield, MA

Ashfield, settled in 1743, exudes historic charm and scenic beauty.

Ashfield Lake, near the center of town, is an idyllic spot to relax in nature or enjoy recreational activities. The lake is a perfect destination for fishing, kayaking, or swimming.

Just outside the town center, you can explore Chapel Brook's pools, waterfalls, and perhaps even experience the thrill of conquering the steep rock face. Wander along our network of town footpaths, built and maintained by Ashfield Trails, an all-volunteer organization.

We boast a community golf course and the renowned Double Edge Theater which hosts an annual outdoor spectacular along with a school for the theater arts.

During the summer, a Farmer's Market is open every Saturday from May to October on the town green. And The Historical Society is open for Saturday visits.

Our annual Ashfield Film Festival in September honors Cecil B. DeMille who was born in Ashfield on August 12, 1881. Local film makers vie for the ultimate prize - the Baby Cecil award.

Every October the Ashfield Fall Festival celebrates community, harvest, and local food, art, music, and culture.

In winter, come visit one of our Christmas tree farms - and maybe even cut your own holiday tree.
