History

Founded in 1927

The former trolley bridge was transformed in to a pedestrian garden in 1927. Shelburne Falls Women’s Club members took on the project and underwrote the cost with a $1,000 grant. In April 1929, club members and others in the community transformed the span to a garden that continues to be mostly volunteer-tended.
