August 4th 100+ Women Who Care Meeting
100+ Women Who Care is a Giving Circle. Our members meet four times a year and to-date have heard presentations from local 12 nonprofits who have told us about the work that they do and about their greatest needs. At the conclusion of the presentations, our members, who each commit to giving $50 a meeting, vote on the group they would like to see receive our collective donation. The member votes are tallied and the group with the majority vote receives the collective donation.
With 150 members our collective donation in May will be $7,500 and we’re still growing!
For all of the groups who present to the Giving Circle, there is also the added benefit of creating awareness that might not have occurred otherwise. Their presentations followed by a Q&A with a staff member, volunteer or board member, are quite powerful and we know that members of 100+ Women have continued their support beyond the meetings. As an added bonus, if a group is not selected for the collective donation, they can be resubmitted for consideration at a future meeting. We feel this is a win-win for all of the groups.
Since last May, our collective giving has been $25,465!
Join us and help make a difference to local non profits who enrich the lives of Franklin county residents. Come early (5:30pm) for refreshments and socializing.
